Kerrigan had a wonderful first Christmas. She got a ton of toys and books and other fun things. Of course, she was more interested in the wrapping paper, tissue paper, bags and tags. But that's okay! This post is going to mainly be pictures and then there is a video that Aaron put together with his Flip Video Camera at the end. We definitely had fun with Aaron's new toy! Haha.
Kerrigan and I went to watch Carson and Parker in their church program about a week and a half before Christmas. Here are some pictures of Kerrigan from that:
In my last post, there are some pictures from when Kerrigan and the boys got their Christmas pictures made at Portrait Innovations. I also put some up from when we were working on our Christmas card. Our Christmas card is also on there. So my next picture is from Christmas Eve. It's kind of blurry because I took it with my phone, but Kerrigan is wearing a Santa hat!
We were going to go to see Santa earlier in December, but we wanted to go with Carson and Parker. I knew Aaron would want to go, so we had to work around his work schedule. And with basketball now in full swing, he is often out of town. So finally, Megan and I decided that we would try to go on Christmas Eve. We figured that surely most everyone had already gone to take care of visiting Santa by then! We got there in the morning and the line really wasn't that bad. However, the lady who was taking the pictures was definitely not patient. I do realize that it can be frustrating to get kids under 4 and babies to look at the camera and be happy. I also realize that it was Christmas Eve and they were probably tired of the same old routine. But, come on... be silly, hold up props, give them a few minutes! And the line wasn't that long, so be patient! Needless to say, Carson was not very happy. He insisted that his mom come be in the picture, but that still didn't cheer him up! :)
Then it was Kerrigan's turn to go by herself and the lady just clicked a picture really fast. She didn't even give her a chance to smile or laugh. And she yelled at me for actually trying to! Whatever... so Kerrigan looks like she has seen a ghost. :)
I think we'll try Brookwood next year. The new Santa at the Galleria is just not as good as the one who used to be there.
Later Christmas Eve, Kerrigan, Aaron and I met my parents, Brad, Megan, Carson and Parker at The Bright Star in Bessemer to eat. Since we had planned on going to church that evening, we thought it would be better to eat at 4. Mom had called to make a reservation and they told us to get there at 4. But we got there and it said they didn't open until 4:30... hmm. Anyway, we ate and then we headed to Brad and Megan's church for a Christmas Eve service. Kerrigan was really good, but we kept the candles away from her during "Silent Night"! We went over to Brad and Megan's for desserts.
Here is a picture of Bebe with Parker and Kerrigan:
We went home and prepared for Kerrigan's first Christmas! We woke her up and she opened her presents from Santa. Here are some pictures:
Kerrigan got some Puffs in her stocking!
Kerrigan got a Care Bear--that's her nickname :)
Kerrigan was playing with Father and Hershey's new toy :)
Yummy paper!
Baby Elmo!
So many presents.........
We then headed over to my parents house to do Christmas with them and Brad, Megan, Carson and Parker. Of course, we were in a frenzy trying to get Kerrigan ready to go, get all of her stuff together and get the presents loaded. Oh yeah, and it was raining, so that was fun. Anyway, we ended up leaving the diaper bag at the house which had my camera inside. So thanks to Megan for the pictures she took of Kerrigan at my parents' house!
Kerrigan was testing out Carson and Parker's shopping cart. Carson really wanted her to look at him!
When we got home, Kerrigan tested out her new pillow pet!
Kerrigan sleeping with her new baby doll, Abby:
And finally... here is a montage of Kerrigan's First Christmas!
Until next time...
